Trump deems likely prison term a ‘breaking point’ for America.

By knl9j Jun5,2024

Donald Trump is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11 following the guilty verdict that was handed down in New York. On Sunday, he seemed to raise the possibility of aggression in the event that the judge sentenced him to incarceration.

Now Donald Trump is going on the offensive. As a result of the earthquake caused by the guilty decision in his criminal trial in New York, the former president of the United States is aware that a significant portion of the battle for the presidential election in November versus Joe Biden is currently being played out in the view of the American people. On Sunday, he gave his word that he was prepared to serve time in prison if it were necessary, while also expressing his concern that a sentence of this nature could be a “breaking point” for the people of the United States. The implication of a potential threat of violence, which is scarcely concealed, is comparable to the seismic aftershock of the assault on the Capitol that was carried out by its followers on January 6, 2021.

Following an appearance on Fox News, Donald Trump admitted that he could face a prison sentence. There is a possibility that the former president, who will be required to make a decision on July 11, could face a maximum sentence of four years in prison. On the other hand, analysts believe that the suspended sentence or community service with a fine is more likely to be imposed due to the fact that this is the first conviction for a non-violent felony (for accounting fraud in the Stormy Daniels incident with the intention of influencing the 2016 election by covering up a sex scandal).

On the other hand, Trump believes that it would be “difficult” for the American people to accept a prison sentence that was handed down to a former president. “I am not certain that the general people would be in favor of (such a choice). You should be aware that you will reach a breaking point at some point.

His youngest son, Eric Trump, even went so far as to refer to him as a “martyr,” adding that “the American people are not stupid.” He is able to see everything that is taking place.

“Meanwhile, Joe Biden”

On Sunday, Donald Trump made his appearance on TikTok in an effort to win the battle of opinion. This comes four years after he unsuccessfully attempted to shut down the video network in the United States under the guise of protecting national security. In the spring, he explained that he had changed his course of action because he was under the impression that he did not want to strengthen the position of Facebook, which he had before referred to as “the enemy of the people.”

The former president makes an appearance in his first film alongside Dana White, the influential leader of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which was the first professional mixed martial arts league in the United States. On the evening of Friday, Donald Trump was present in New Jersey to see the fight that was taking place between Makhachev and Poirier. One thing that stood out to us was the fact that some of the audience decided to support his cause by yelling “Fuck Joe Biden” and “We want Trump.”

Additionally, his campaign staff disclosed that he had amassed nearly 53 million dollars in donations in the twenty-four hours that followed the verdict. Assuming that the data are validated in the following weeks, this would be comparable to what Biden did over the entirety of the month of April.

A rift in American life

For the time being, it is difficult to determine how this verdict will affect public opinion because we do not yet know the final sentence. Based on the results of a study conducted by CBS, it is not unexpected to find that 96 percent of Democrats believe that Donald Trump was given a fair trial, while 86 percent of Republicans have the opposite view. Independent voters, who are voters who do not identify with either the Democratic Party or the Republican Party and who make up around 45% of the electorate, tilt somewhat toward a fair verdict (56% versus 44%). They have the potential to act as arbitrators on November 5.

Another poll that was conducted for Reuters came to the conclusion that ten percent of Republicans have stated that they are less likely to vote for Donald Trump as a result of this ruling. A considerable number that, however, may be subject to change by the month of November. And receive compensation in the form of increased participation from the party’s core supporters.

Regarding the ballot for November 5, there are still a number of question marks there. Starting with the ruling that the Supreme Court is scheduled to make by the end of June about the possibility of protecting Donald Trump from prosecution while he was in office as president. If the judges decided in favor of the Republican candidate or temporized by referring a portion of the case to an appeals court, he would be able to avoid a federal prosecution for electoral meddling prior to the election in November. This trial, more than the one that is taking place in New York, is considered to be the most significant threat that Donald Trump faces.–Prix/10676411
