Andy Serkis will be the director of “The Hunt for Gollum,” and in the meantime, they are in the preliminary phases of developing the script.

This reunion with one of the most charismatic characters in the JRR Tolkien saga will be directed by Andy Serkis, who will also play the role of the figure themselves. The news that it will be featured in the movie “The Hunt for Gollum” was disclosed by Warner in the communication that the company sent to its shareholders regarding the performance of the first quarter of the past year. Producer Peter Jackson, who was responsible for directing the original trilogy as well as the films that adapted “The Hobbit,” will be in charge of the project.

The Chief Executive Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, has given his word that Jackson “will be involved every step of the way” in order to prevent another production disaster similar to the one that occurred with “The Hobbit,” which began with Guillermo del Toro on board. Peter Jackson will be accompanied by Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who are his typical colleagues in the music industry.

As a matter of fact, Walsh and Boyens will be the ones responsible for crafting the script, with assistance from Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou (both of whom have already authored “Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim,” so Warner must be pleased with how things are going with this latest one). According to Warner, they are still at a very basic level of production, and Zaslav claims that “they will explore stories that have not yet been told.” Due to this, it is reasonable to believe that we are going to be dealing with something that is comparable to a prequel that will research the beginnings of the character.

Just a few months ago, Warner made the announcement that they were going to develop a series of films based on Tolkien’s works through the New Line Cinema label, which is owned by Warner and was the producer of the original trilogy at the time. The rights have been licensed from Embracer, who has been the current owner of the rights to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit since August 2022.

In 2026, Warner Bros. will release the first of its new wave of live-action “The Lord of the Rings” films, which will center on Andy Serkis’ portrayal of Gollum.

David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, stated on Thursday during an earnings call that the original director of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Peter Jackson, together with his colleagues Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, are producing the project and “will be involved every step of the way.”

Zaslav stated that the project will “explore storylines yet to be told,” and that it is currently in the early stages of script creation. Walsh and Boyens, together with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, are the authors that are working on the project.

Warner Bros. announced in a press statement that the working title for the film is “Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,” and that it will be directed by Serkis, who will also play the iconic role of Gollum. The announcement was made later on Thursday morning. Executive producing duties for the movie will be handled by Ken Kamins, along with Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish, who is a member of The Imaginarium.

In February of 2023, Warner Bros. made the initial announcement that Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, who had recently been appointed as the leaders of the company, had successfully negotiated an agreement to produce “multiple” films based on the well-known J.R.R. Tolkien characters. New Line Cinema, which is owned by the Warner Bros. label, will be creating the projects. Over the course of a business venture known as Middle-earth Enterprises, Freemode, which is a division of Embracer Group, negotiated the agreement to acquire the rights to adapt works such as “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit.”

Warner Bros. and filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama are planning to release a second animated Middle-earth film titled “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” on December 13th. The story of that film takes place two hundred years before the events of “The Hobbit.”

Because of the undeniable dedication that Peter, Fran, and Philippa have shown toward protecting the legacy of Tolkien’s works and to ensure that audiences could experience the incredible world that he created in a way that honors his literary vision, moviegoers have embraced the ‘Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy for more than twenty years, according to a statement released by De Luca and Abdy on Thursday. The fact that they have decided to collaborate with us on these two new films is a great honor for us. With Andy coming aboard to direct ‘Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,’ we continue a vital commitment to excellence that is a true hallmark of how we all wish to push ahead and further contribute to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ cinematic history.”

The following statement was made by Jackson, Walsh, and Boyens: “It is an honor and a joy to come back to Middle-earth with our good friend and partner, Andy Serkis, who has unfinished business with that Stinker – Gollum! As people who have been studying Professor Tolkien’s huge mythology for their entire lives, we are ecstatic to be collaborating with Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy, and the rest of the Warner Bros. team on yet another incredible journey!

As for Precious, Serkis responded, “Yesssss.” “The time has come once more to embark on an adventure into the unknown with my close friends, Peter, Fran, and Philippa, who are the exceptional and unparalleled protectors of Middle Earth. All of this is just too delectable, especially considering that Mike and Pam, as well as the Warner Bros. team, as well as WETA and our filmmaking family in New Zealand, are all currently on the hunt.

The first three installments of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which Jackson directed, brought in close to three billion dollars worldwide. Jackson’s subsequent trilogy, which was based on Tolkien’s “The Hobbit,” generated the same amount of money.

The actors Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, and Cate Blanchett were featured in the first installment of Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. This group of three films received a total of thirty nominations for Academy Awards and won seventeen of them, including the award for best picture, which was given to “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” in 2003.—Chocolate-adelga/10656823–chocolate-adelgazante-para-un-cuerpo-ideal-en-el-salvador-687052123
