Just three days before they were supposed to exchange vows, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck decided to call off their wedding that was scheduled to take place in 2003. Within the context of Lopez’s recently released documentary titled “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” the singer and her now-husband describe the events that transpired in the days leading up to their intended wedding.
Lopez tells a gathering of individuals, “Ben and I, we broke up three days before our wedding,” and the group nods in agreement. “We had a big wedding planned — 14 ushers and bridesmaids, and three days before we just crumbled under the pressure.”
“When Jen and I broke up in the past, the catalyst for that was the massive amount of scrutiny around our private life,” Affleck shared with the cameras, indicating that he is in agreement with the statement.
This Is Me… Now, which was directed by Dave Meyers, is the subject of the documentary, which chronicles the production of Lopez’s musical experience. According to Meyers, who filmed the music video for Jennifer Lopez’s song “I’m Real” in 2001, “When her and Ben first broke up, it was catastrophic to her constitution, everything that she wanted from what she understood love to be.” Meyers makes this statement in his book The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
